Kona solids challenge

  • Size: about 45″ x 55″

The Minneapolis Modern Quilt Guild had a Kona solids challenge—you received a charm pack of Kona solids and had to make something with it. I backed all of the charm squares with fusible interfacing, and traced and cut nested circles (by hand) out of each one. There was a lot of circle math! I wanted to stretch my small charm pack to an entire toddler-sized quilt so I spread them quite far apart, but next time I think I would put them much closer together. I quilted this one to death in a paisley pattern. For the backing, I used all of the leftover circle centers and fused them in a random pattern.
