Improv challenge
- Started: January 2014
- Finished: March 2014
- Size: about 50″ x 60″
The Minneapolis Modern Quilt Guild had a “Challenge yourself” challenge where we were supposed to do something we had never done before. We were all given a small stack of Monaluna Meadow fabric. I chose to make this entire quilt top without a rotary cutter, just using scissors only! It was a very fun challenge to work on, and not as difficult as I thought it would be. My MIL had requested a quilt that was certain dimensions and so that is the size I made.
For the backing I had a large piece of random-dyed fabric and I sliced and inserted strips of the leftover hand-dyed fabrics that I used in the front.
