If you’re new to my 52 zippers project, you can read the backstory, see all the zipper pouches, and download basic zipper pouch instructions here.

So this week I wanted to try something a little more graphic. I decided to try a freezer paper stencil of a Boston Terrier as a panel on the front of a pouch. I did the stencil on Essex Linen in Flax using Jacquard fabric paint. I am terrible at drawing so I got the clipart from Google images. The eyes were more than a little putzy but I think overall it turned out really well! I did the stencil on a larger piece of linen before I cut it out for the pouch.

I made a matching back panel and I quilted it with some dark gray thread just to add a little more interest.

I lined it with this super fun Tula Pink print. I also used another metal zipper because I am loving how sharp the metal zippers look.

  • Outer piece: 10″ wide x 6.25″ tall.
  • Lining pieces: Cut to same size as exterior panels.
  • Zipper tabs: none
  • Zipper: 9″, teeth length: 8″

See you back here next week with another zip pouch!
