Ok, this post is a little late coming, but I have a new pattern out. I called it Pacific because the multi-colored blues reminded me of the ocean. I love how this one is so soft and delicately colored, and I very much love the mix of aquas and teals in the pinwheels. It’s not my usual style to make such a light quilt, but it is a favorite!
I made my version with Kona cottons (the exact ones are listed in the pattern), and I quilted it using a medium-dense meander with Aurifil (50 weight). I matched the quilting thread color to the background, and since it is so fine it just melted into the quilt, even over the blue pinwheels. It turned out just lovely!
I include fabric requirements and instructions for four sizes: crib (40″ x 48″), throw (pictured, 70″ x 70″), Twin (70″ x 90″), and queen (90″ x 90″). You could easily adapt this to a king as well by adding an extra row and column of blocks.
This pattern has very clear instructions and every step is illustrated. I walk you through cutting (and include cutting diagrams to make efficient use of your fabric), piecing, and assembling the quilt top. I also include coloring sheets so that you can play with different color combinations!
This quilt is very quick and easy to sew and is for any quilter that has some experience with quilting. This could easily be a beginner’s second quilt.
