I made these coasters for my Nutcracker-crazy MIL for Christmas this year. The reverse side is more fabric from my Christmas fabric stash.
They are based on the ones in “Bend the Rules Sewing“, but I quilted them in a big “X” through the middle so they would wrinkle less after being washed. These turned out really big; if I were to make them again I would make them an inch smaller on each side and start with 4″ squares of fabric.
